(Track 4/11 Gullet Stories) I’m not entirely sure how many years it took to cohesively arrange this and write lyrics for it, but it wrestles with the darkness that existed when I first lived on my own– out of the house, having to make my way and wrestle with questions of life.
lyrics:
i can’t imagine any other time
life filled with emptiness when everything is fine
the nights are filled with silence ringing like a chime
i can’t imagine it but everything is fine
my brand new freedom lingers large inside my brain
it steals my memories and replaces them with pain
my new bravado near impossible to feign
when my brand new freedom lingers large inside my brain
and i will take these hands and let them forge my life
and i will dance this dance and let it be the light
and i will take these hands and let them forge my life
and i will dance this dance and let it be the light
i can’t imagine any other time
life filled with emptiness when everything is fine
the nights are filled with silence ringing like a chime
i can’t imagine it but everything is fine
