I would completely understand if you were to skip to the appended last song. It was a sweet improv blues jam roughly resembling Chinese Buffet, complete with piano, cajon, and some sweet and soulful background vocals from a mysterious, extremely talented female vocalist.

In this open mic, I debut the song Grass and Wine with piano accompaniment from Phil Romeo and (off camera) Tyler on the cajon. Also featured: Better Ending, Other Half, and Please Don’t Bury Me (written by John Prine). Nothing caught fire this time. Unless you count my soul.

Open Mic at The Thirsty Soul Philly 3-7-2019
It was quite enjoyable to dust off some rather old songs in my song catalog for this open mic night. It never hurts to practice the old “nobody knows you messed up, keep playing” philosophy; plus, it pleases me that the lyrics don’t feel dated (yet).
